Mero Kitta Nepal: official website, app and login
Mero Kitta is the Survey Department portal for map print, plot register and field book. Here is the official website, the Android app, how login actually works, and what to do with the naksha once you have it.
Mero Kitta (मेरो कित्ता) is the public face of Nepal's National Land Information System. The Survey Department — नापी विभाग — runs it so you can request land records without standing in a survey-office queue: a printed map, a plot register extract, a field-book page, or a field-survey request. The official website is merokitta.dos.gov.np. The official Android app is also called Mero Kitta, published by the Survey Department on Google Play.
That is the whole official product. It is not a land-area calculator, it is not a public search of every kitta in Nepal, and it is not affiliated with GharNaksa. What it gives you is the government drawing. What GharNaksa Naapi Plotter does is measure that drawing — the area in square feet, square metres, Ropani-Aana-Paisa-Dam and Bigha-Katha-Dhur — so you can plan a house, check a quoted price, or sanity-check a listing before you pay a surveyor.

What Mero Kitta is — and what it is not
On the portal itself the system is labelled NeLIS Public Access Portal (MeroKitta). NeLIS is the department's land-information backbone. Mero Kitta is the citizen window onto it. It launched in 2021 for Kathmandu Valley survey offices and has since been rolled out more widely. The department is नापी विभाग — the Survey Department — at Min Bhawan, Kathmandu, under the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation (भूमि व्यवस्था, सहकारी तथा गरिबी निवारण मन्त्रालय).
- It is official. Use only merokitta.dos.gov.np and the Play listing published by Survey Department (package np.gov.dos.merokitta). Lookalikes that ask you to "check any kitta number" for a fee are not the government portal.
- It is an application desk, not a Google search. You file a request for a service on a parcel you can identify, then track that request with the mobile number and OTP you were sent.
- It delivers records, not measurements. The PDF naksha you download is a survey drawing. The area printed on a lalpurja is the legal figure. Measuring the shape on the sheet is a separate job — that is what Naapi Plotter is for.
- It is not a login wall in front of a public map. There is no free-roaming satellite view of every parcel in Nepal behind a username.
GharNaksa Naapi Plotter is a planning tool. It does not replace the Survey Department record, a licensed surveyor, or anything a lawyer or a bank will accept as the legal area.
Mero Kitta official website and portal
The Mero Kitta website — often searched as "mero kitta portal", "mero kitta online" or "mero kitta website" — lives at https://merokitta.dos.gov.np/. Bookmark that URL. From the home page the three things you will actually use are:

The application form asks for the survey office, the local unit, and the service. Then it asks for you: citizenship number, a scan of the citizenship certificate, a scan of the land-ownership paper (lalpurja), the issue date and the issuing district. File sizes are small — typically around 1 MB — so photograph the documents on a flat table in even light rather than emailing a 12-megapixel HEIC.
After you submit, an OTP is sent to the mobile number you entered. Keep that number and that OTP. They are how you come back to check status, and how you later unlock the digital naksha download. If the number is wrong, the application is effectively lost.
Mero Kitta app download
The official Mero Kitta app is on Google Play, published by Survey Department, and it does the same job as the website: file a request, print maps and registers, request a field survey, and track status. Search "Mero Kitta" and confirm the publisher is Survey Department before you install. The listing is Mero Kitta on Google Play.
There is no official iPhone app at the time of writing. On an iPhone, use the website in Safari. That is also the safer habit on Android if a third-party APK site is offering a "mero kitta app download" — those files are not the department's.

Do not confuse the government Mero Kitta app with GharNaksa's own Construction Calculator on Google Play. Mero Kitta is for official records. Construction Calculator is for cost, materials and Naapi land measurement on a phone. They solve different problems.
Mero Kitta login — how it actually works
People search "mero kitta login" expecting a username and password. For a citizen, that is not how the portal is built. You do not create a long-lived account the way you would on a bank site. You file an application, the system texts an OTP to your phone, and that pair — mobile number plus OTP — is how you prove you are the same person when you check status or download the map.
Open the application form on the website or in the official app.
Pick the survey office, the local unit and the service (map print is the one that gives you the naksha).
Fill in citizenship and lalpurja details and attach the scans.
Enter a mobile number you can reach. The OTP goes there. Write the OTP down; you will need it later.
Wait for the office to process the request. The department has directed offices to work through applications in turn, often within about 15 days, but load varies.
When a fee is due you are told by SMS. Pay through the channel the portal offers (ConnectIPS or a bank voucher, depending on the office).
For a map print, another SMS tells you the digital naksha is ready. Use the OTP on the download link. The file is typically available for seven days. Download it immediately and keep a copy.
Institutional users — offices, banks, firms — have a separate login with a username, password or QR code. That is not the citizen path. If a site asking you to "login to mero kitta" is not merokitta.dos.gov.np and is not the official app, stop.
Checking the status of a request
Go to merokitta.dos.gov.np/status, enter the same mobile number and the OTP you were sent, and read the state of the request. That is the official "mero kitta login" for everyone who already applied.
What you get back: naksha, register, field book
A map-print request returns a digital naksha — the kitta map, the thing people also search as "mero kitta map" or "mero kitta naksha". It is a survey drawing of the parcel and its neighbours, with kitta numbers, boundaries and usually a scale. A plot-register print is the tabular record. A field-book print is the surveyor's notes from the original measurement.
None of those files, by themselves, tell your phone how many square feet the shape is. The area on the lalpurja is the legal number. The drawing is the shape. If you want to read the sheet or calculate the area from the outline, you still have to measure it.
After Mero Kitta: measure the naksha in Naapi Plotter
This is the part Mero Kitta does not do, and the reason this guide lives on a measuring tool rather than a government FAQ. GharNaksa Naapi Plotter opens the PDF or a photo of the sheet in the browser, sets a scale from one known length, and lets you trace the kitta. The result arrives in every Nepali unit at once. There is no account and no wait.

Open the calculator and load the Mero Kitta PDF, or a flat photo of the printed sheet. PDF, HEIC, JPG, PNG, WEBP, AVIF, GIF, BMP and TIFF all open. You can pick a file, photograph the paper, drag it in or paste it.
Calibrate. Tap the two ends of a line whose real length you know — a printed dimension, a road width, or a ruler reading across the sheet multiplied by the drawing scale. For a clean official scan, a drawing-scale preset such as 1:500 at 300 DPI is enough.
Trace the boundary. Tap each corner of your kitta in order. On a phone, hold and slide to open the magnifier. Drag any corner to nudge it. Tap an edge to insert a missing corner.
Read the area in square feet, square metres, Ropani-Aana-Paisa-Dam and Bigha-Katha-Dhur. Press Calculate and the same dialog will also price the plot if you type the asking rate.
Export a labelled PNG or use the print view to save a PDF. Save the work as a project in the browser if you will come back to it.
If the sheet has more than one kitta — a family split, a road-widening leftover, two parcels on one map — trace each as its own plot against the same calibration. Each gets a name and a colour; the combined total sits next to the individuals. That is the usual way a "mero kitta map" is actually used: one sheet, several shapes, one scale.
What the measuring tool will and will not do
- Two-tap calibration, with a choice between a ground length and a paper (ruler) length, plus a sanity check that rejects a scale that would make the sheet a postage stamp or a district.
- Reusable calibration templates, so a stack of sheets from the same office at the same scale does not have to be recalibrated each time.
- A CAD-style measure tool for any two points — house corner to road, kitta corner to kitta corner — with object snap and a bearing in degrees. A dimension never changes the area.
- Layers, so you can fade the naksha, hide the labels, or export a clean plot-only sheet.
- Land value in rupees per Aana, Ropani, Bigha, Katha or square foot, and a reading in USD, AUD, GBP and other currencies.
- A By-lengths mode if you have no drawing at all: sketch the shape, type the tape measurements, and the tool triangulates the area and fits the true outline to those lengths.
- It is not a legal survey. A tilted phone photo still warps the sheet. Use a surveyor for registration, transfer or a bank.

Used together they cover the path people actually walk. Request the sheet on the Mero Kitta website. Download the PDF in the seven-day window. Open it in Naapi Plotter. Trace the kitta. Read the area. If the number on the lalpurja and the number on the trace disagree by more than a few percent, stop and ask a surveyor — do not "fix" a government figure with a browser tool.
